    Hello,

I recently found your podcast and have been enjoying your variety of topics and wonderful guest speakers – thank you.

I chuckled a little and mentally noted my responses to the animal quiz your recently spoke of. I do not have children, our dogs are my husband’s, and my family. SPOILED, yes and also deserving (I think) of the many toys and generous ration of treats provided.

I trained Henry to ring the bells to ask to go outside. When I walk over to the door, he and Reese ‘back it up’ and ‘sit’ at the edge of the rug while I open the door. Good manners but also I don’t want to step on them or smack them with the door when it opens (sticky seals and all).

Sometimes they start bugging for their supper and I don’t mind doing an ‘earlier sitting’ for madames et monsieur (Lady Charlie the tuxedo kitty incl.) however, Henry and Reese sit on their ‘bed’ until all the dishes are placed on their mats and I release them to enjoy their food.

Treats also come at a price; trade for a trick or as a reward. Playtime is bonding time and there are no rules in our house for this. It just is. A hundred or more laps of fetch. No limits.

Thanks again, it’s nice to hear from and about other ‘animal people’.

    Sincerely,
    S.M.

100 or more laps of fetch, your dogs are in heaven! ;-)
