Change Your Perspective

e570gsrAnimal Communication Tip: Shift your perspective to see from the animals point of view! Get to their level, and look around. If you’re a dog or a cat, what’s it like to have your nose only 6 inches from the ground? What is it like to have to crain your neck back to look up just to see a human’s knees? If you’re a hawk, what does it feel like to soar on the winds? What does it feel like to have wings? How does it feel to walk on the ground? Is your hawk vision different from your human vision? Be patient – be the animal at different times of the day or night. Keep notes on this in your animal communication journal. This will give you feeling for seeing life from the perspective of a different species!

I have to say getting on the dog’s level is what I always like to do with my dog training students. The other exercise was to see how hard it is to teach another person a behavior without words.

Hi Paula, thx for stopping by and leaving your comment. That’s an interesting concept – teaching another person a behavior without words. I’m sure that gives your students a new appreciation.

I do get down on the cat’s level when they are looking at something and want me to see…I did that with my dog, too. I know it sounds odd to those not in tune with animals, but if you ask them “show me” enough they start to be able to show you what they want. My horse used to tell me where he wanted to go for a ride by moving into position of either the ring for show work or the road for a leisurley ride.
